THUNDER BAY -- Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.

Children craving adventure and excitement in a galaxy far, far away flocked to the Brodie Library on Saturday because within the crude matter of books lies the proof, we are luminous beings.

The Star Wars Reads annual publisher's promotion was hosted at libraries across North America on Saturday, including Thunder Bay, which held the event's fourth episode with a new hope.

Stormtroopers, biker scouts and mandalorians helped in the effort as loot bags and bookmarks inspired young people with their favourite characters.

"Libraries are so welcoming," said Sierra Trees-Turner, Friends of the Library volunteer and member of the 501st Legion.

"They want to promote literacy with children and what betyter way than getting tohem to read something they love? I mean, everybody loves Star Wars."
