Special weather statement in effect for:
City of Thunder Bay

Snow will continue today as a strong Alberta Clipper tracks from Southern Manitoba across Northern Minnesota to Lake Superior by tonight.

Snowfall amounts of 8 cm have already been reported at Thunder Bay and Marathon early this morning. A further 5 to locally 10 cm is expected today across the region, bringing total amounts up to 15 to 20 cm by this evening.

Visibility may be reduced in areas of heavier snow. Untreated highways will be snow covered and somewhat slippery.

The snow is expected to become lighter and more intermittent tonight, with perhaps an additional 2 cm expected by Monday morning.

Motorists traveling along the Trans Canada Highway between Wawa and Thunder Bay should exercise caution, and allow extra time to reach their destination.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
