THUNDER BAY – City police responded to fewer reports of collisions during this weekend’s snowfalls than expected.

In a media release issued Monday morning, Thunder Bay Police Service officials confirmed they received 18 reports of collisions, one of which included minor injuries, during the weekend.

The police service’s traffic department is estimating it will receive an equal number of self-reported collisions coming into the reporting centre over the next day or so.

Of the 18 reported crash, one had little to do with the weather.

City police say two drivers involved in a crash were impaired, and because of that fact they’ll both be without a driver’s licence for at least 90 days.
