A Conmee Township man has been fined $1,000 for letting his dog run at large.
The man pleaded guilty to permitting his dog to run at large in an area inhabited by game and was fined $1,000.
The court heard that in June 2015, a dog was photographed attacking a small white-tailed deer fawn on Olson Road in Conmee Township.
The investigation led to the residence of Eric Olson, where Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers observed the dog to be at large several times during their attempts to contact Olson.
Justice of the Peace John Guthrie heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Thunder Bay, on February 3, 2016.
The public is reminded that dogs must be under the control of their owners and are not allowed to run at large in an area inhabited by game.
