Toronto, ON – The LOTTO MAX jackpot and your thermostat are on the rise. The Friday, July 22, 2016 LOTTO MAX jackpot is an estimated $55 million plus an estimated 4 MAXMILLIONS prizes worth $1 million each.

This heat wave has Ontarians daydreaming about winning the jackpot. According to a survey recently conducted for OLG, lottery players who win, want to share the wealth.

Did you know:

•  25% of Ontarians would give a portion of their new-found wealth away to those they think need it most. 13% would only give away a portion to their favourite people, and 6% would not share their win with anybody.

• 51% of Ontarians say the first person they would call if they won the lottery would be their spouse. However, some want to keep this news secret. 9% of Ontarians admit they would keep the good news to themselves, choosing not to tell anybody.

• Two-thirds of Ontario players have given a lottery ticket as a gift.

Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won over $2.9 billion, including 46 jackpot wins and 313 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province.

For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes.

Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers or buy online at PlayOLG.ca until 10:30 p.m. EDT, Friday, July 22, 2016 for the draw that evening.
