Construction to slow traffic on 61 near Rosslyn Road

THUNDER BAY -- Construction on Hwy 61 may cause a longer than usual commute for some residents over the next couple of days.

THUNDER BAY -- Construction on Hwy 61 may cause a longer than usual commute for some residents over the next couple of days.

Officials with the Ministry of Transportation are advising commuters of a lane reduction on Hwy 61, between the Rosslyn Road and Canadian Pacific Railway overheads.

Construction began Monday evening, which led to that portion of the highway being reduced to single lane of traffic from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Normal traffic will resume Thursday.

The lane restrictions are required to complete bridge inspections.

Drivers are reminded to obey traffic signs for both their safety, and the safety of workers.
