Province must learn from mistakes: Ombudsman

The province’s ombudsman says the lack of accountability at government agencies underscores a systemic failure.

Andre Marin said Ontario’s recent problems show that arms-length agencies can become troublesome for their creators.

He added that the government must learn from previous mistakes at agencies like the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., and eHealth Ontario.

Marin also said that the issues cannot be ignored, saying that the failures of OLG should become mandatory reading for all government agencies.

Marin made the comments while speaking to the Economic Club of Canada Thursday.

it's good to know that in these trying econmic times someone out there realizes that there is the possibility that money sometimes gets wasted or maybe just not spent in the best manner. I hope that the members of the ECC did not ckoke on their Lobster and filet when they heard this because............... excuse me I just fell off of my chair Laughing....... Government correctness is very important.
