MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Police search teams continue to scour a Mississauga park where human body parts have been discovered.
Peel police Const. George Tudos says the team of 30 to 50 officers will expand their search area in hopes of finding the remaining human remains.
Earlier this week, a severed head and foot were found in Hewick Meadows Park. On Friday, two hands were found in the Credit River, which flows through the park west of Toronto.
Police have yet to confirm the body parts are from one person.
Investigators believe the remains are female but decomposition has prevented them from determining the woman's age or ethnicity .
Tudos says the police are using a dive team and cadaver dogs to aid in their search.
"We're still searching the same area. It will take a long time — a few days at least," he said.
The park remains cordoned off to the public. In summer months, it is popular with runners and cyclists.
