It is with heavy hearts we announce that Michael Rioux passed away peacefully May 1, 2024 with the love of his life and soulmate Heather at his side. He was raised in Red Rock, Ontario and worked at Norampac until the closure of the mill in 2006, when he retired to enjoy leisure time and travel.

He is survived by his loving wife Heather and his children: Jamie and Cody, grandchildren: Riah, Brady, Ella and Aster, his brother Guy (Emily), sisters Paulette (Aulis), Jeannine (Bart), Charmaine (Bob), Bernie (Glen), in-laws: Terry (Nancy), Murray (Donna), Shirley and his nieces and nephews. A cherished husband, father, papa, brother and friend. Michael was predeceased by his parents Roger & Lorraine Rioux, step-father Bill Halabisky and brother-in-law Bobby Smeltzer.

With a smile, song and a story he made friends throughout every stage of his life. Michael was the first to lend a helping hand when someone was in need.

Michael always gave a full effort in all of his passions. Whether at home or at work or on the ballfield or curling club or bowling alley or singing with the band. Throughout all the challenges he faced he always remained strong and pushed forward. He was happiest spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place with interment to be determined at a later date.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Red Rock Legion at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

If so desired donations to the Red Rock Legion and the Seniors Van or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
