Mr.Larry McGuire passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hospice Unit on Saturday, March 19, 2011, after a brief illness.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Larry was born on June 22, 1938 in Fort William to parents Lawrence (Lorne) and Noela McGuire. Upon retiring from Spicer’s Tire Service – where he dedicated 40 years of service – Larry became an avid golfer.

He enjoyed golfing year round with friends at the local golf courses and golf dome. His other loves in life were watching his grandsons play hockey and visiting his two other grandchildren in B.C.

Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn (nee Blundell); daughters Marianne Kulp, Maureen Tait (Andrew) and grandchildren Brayden, Graham, Madison and Jasper. Also survived by sisters Sheila Laviolette, Noreen Kohler (Bud), brothers Terry McGuire and Mike McGuire (Betty), sister-in-law Bev Pyorny (Larry) and brother-in-law Ted Blundell (Pat), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents and in laws Ted and Helen Blundell, as well as sisters Lorna Sim and Mary Wakewich and brother Brian McGuire.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic's Church celebrated by Rev. Victor DeGagné.

Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or a charity of your choice.

A tree will be planted in memory of Lawrence McGuire in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 10, 2012.
