Mrs. Edna May MacDonald, 88, a resident of Roseview Manor, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 10, with her loving husband by her side.

Edna was born in Fort William on September 5, 1922 to James and Daisy Ginger. She worked for many years at the Port Arthur Clinic and then later worked at Eaton's. She was a member of the Topaz Rebekkah Lodge.

Edna married Donald MacDonald on September 28, 1978. Her love of traveling meant that she and Donald shared many great adventures as they travelled Canada from coast to coast.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Donald, brothers-in-law Ken (Carol), Lorne (Pam), Angus (Linda) and Gordon (Berta) MacDonald, sisters-in-law Margaret Leathorn and Lorna (Paul Lane) Lutz, dear friends Cathy and Eric Nousiainen and family, Eila and Mauno Long and family and Helmi Kurki as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada and England. She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Deborah Kraft presiding.

Following a reception, the interment will be held in Mountain View Cemetery.

Visitation for friends will be from 6p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 16th in the Sargent & Son Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, memorials to Roseview Manor would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at http://www.sargentandson.com/.
