<p> Mrs. Anna &quot;Selena&quot; Layne, age 91 years, a resident of Hogarth Riverview Manor, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Selena was born in Port Arthur on July 29, 1920 to Karl and Helena Hedman.&nbsp; She and her husband Bud moved to British Columbia in the 1960s where she worked various jobs before taking a position with the B.C.<br /> <br /> Labour Relations Board, where she worked for many years before retiring.&nbsp;Selena returned to Thunder Bay in 2005 residing at Glacier Ridge before moving to Hogarth Riverview Manor.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Selena&#39;s faith was a very important part of her life.&nbsp; She was an avid walker and reader and enjoyed music. She is survived by her sister Inez Johnson, nieces Marilyn (John) Husiak and Lorraine (Michael) Heney, nephew Tom Kenrick and great nieces and nephews Kyle, Laura, Mary, Linda, Michael, Cathy, Patrick, Lisa, Karen and Michelle.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> She was predeceased by her husband Bernard &quot;Bud&quot;, sisters Elna Kenrick, Ailie Taylor and Helen Hedman and brother Einar Hedman.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Sargent &amp; Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Pastor Matthew Diegel of Immanuel Lutheran Church presiding.&nbsp; As expressions of sympathy memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church would be appreciated.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Online condolences may be made at <a href="http://www.sargentandson.com" target="_blank">www.sargentandson.com</a>.</p> <p> logo<br /> &nbsp;</p>
