Mrs. Shirley Gaggiano, age 76 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 in St. Joseph's Care Group. <br />
<br />
Shirley was born in Port Arthur on Dec. 4, 1934 to Marka and Edward Hawkins. She worked at A&P for more than 25 years. As a young woman Shirley enjoyed playing fastball as a member of the Nor-Shore Hotel baseball team. <br />
<br />
Shirley's hobbies and interests included playing bingo, fishing at the Shubaly camp at Shebandowan, working in the garden and cooking for family gatherings. A very giving person, much of Shirley's time was spent looking after her family. <br />
<br />
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Barry (Susan) and Todd (Kim), grandchildren: Leanne (Cody), Tyler and Kadie-Rose; brother Ted (Jeannie) Hawkins of Fergus, ON, sister Jennifer (Lorne) Everett of Santa Barbara, CA as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. <br />
<br />
She was predeceased by her son Dino, husband Mario and her parents. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with the Ven. Mark S. Conliffe presiding. The interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Chapel. <br />
