<p> Mrs. Matilda Kathleen Arnold, age 84 years, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side in St. Joseph&#39;s Care Group on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Matilda was born in Port Arthur on April 12, 1927 to William and Annie Baxter and was a lifetime resident.&nbsp;As a young woman while at Green Point, a place that she considered special her entire life, she met William Arnold.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The two fell in love and were married on September 21, 1927.&nbsp; Together they raised&nbsp;five children.&nbsp; Matilda was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where she was very involved with her church community.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Her main focus in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and she was happiest when spending time with them.&nbsp; She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Judith Martin of North Vancouver, Susan (Barry) Gaggiano, Joanne (Lindsay) Eade, and Fred (Lauren) Arnold; grandchildren: Leanne and Tyler Gaggiano, Carson and Statton Eade and Mathew and Christopher Arnold; son-in-law Doug Mortimer of Vancouver, sister-in-law Mildred Arnold as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> She was predeceased by her husband William, daughter Wendy Mortimer, brothers George and Bill Baxter, sisters Frances MacDonell and Helen Knutson and her parents.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> A private memorial service will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church with Pastor David Haberstock presiding.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Joseph&#39;s Foundation-Hospice Unit would be appreciated.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Arrangements are in care of the Sargent &amp; Son Funeral Directors, 21 N.
