<p> Mr. Dennis Raymond Oksanen, age 56 years, resident of Oliver Lake and formerly of Thunder Bay and Nolalu Ont., passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 22, 2012.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Born June 13, 1956, Dennis attended Nolalu Public School, Selkirk High School and the Confederation College welding program.&nbsp; He worked 32 years as a welder at Abitibi-Bowater and was looking forward to retirement in a few months.&nbsp; He was an avid fisherman, moose hunter and trapper and loved and appreciated the Northern &quot;great outdoors.&quot;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> He also had a keen interest in carpentry and metalwork and created many unique and meticulous works for those he loved. He always found time for his children and grandchildren,&nbsp; taking them on great snowmobile adventures, flyin fishing trips,&nbsp; Mexican holidays, or just a swim or water ski on Oliver Lake.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> He built his dream castle on Oliver Lake and spent his last&nbsp;six years there enjoying great friends and family and the lake&#39;s beauty.<br /> <br /> He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Susan, his three daughters, Raili, Katherine and Kelsey, two grandchildren, Jayden Oksanen Fodchuk and Madison Oksanen Kostick, siblings Pauli Saarinen (Viola), Eric Oksanen, Anita Oksanen, and Ellen Cote (Roy), brother-in-law Bill Greaves Jr.(Dawn) and sister-in-law Sandra Greaves-Doyle (Mario), in-laws Bill and Shirley Greaves&nbsp; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> He was predeceased by his parents, Sonja Oksanen and Armas Oksanen, step-father Illmari Saarinen, mother-in-law Mary Greaves and brother Leo Saarinen.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Cremation has taken place.&nbsp; Funeral services will be held at St. Mark&#39;s Anglican Church in Rosslyn Village at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 officiated by Rev. Nancy Ringham.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Rosslyn Community Center for coffee and a light lunch immediately following the service.<br /> <br /> The funeral arrangements are in care of the Sargent &amp; Son Funeral Directors, 21 N.
