<p> <em><strong>Kathleen Mae (Molly) Shaver<br /> October 1, 1918- July 20, 2012</strong></em><br /> <br /> Molly&rsquo;s final days were comfortable and allowed her to leave her long life quietly and in peace at her residence in Roseview Manor, on July 20th, 2012.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Kathleen Mae Westlake, also lovingly known as Molly to most, was born in Port Arthur, Ontario.&nbsp; She was the middle child of seven, born to Elizabeth (Turner) and William Westlake. Molly was predeceased by her siblings Bill, Dick, Jack, Dorothy Whiteman, Gladys Thompson, and Noreen Walsh.&nbsp; She was also sadly predeceased by her husband Sanford, in 1948, beloved son Richard, in 1972, and close in-laws Loma (Bill) Creighton and Ardis (Cam) Hunter.<br /> <br /> Molly appreciated the love, laughter, joy of life despite the many challenges along the way.&nbsp; She had deep faith and was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church.&nbsp; Molly was also a member of&nbsp; Pastoral Care Ministry.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Molly had a strong work ethic and in her early years she held several jobs at Port Arthur Telephone Department, Port Arthur Collegiate Institute as a secretary and Port Arthur Court House.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Her most beloved job was at Eaton&rsquo;s as a Cosmetician.&nbsp; Here she was in her glory as she helped many customers look beautiful and enjoyed the socialization involved in this job.&nbsp;After 25 years, she retired at the age of 70.<br /> <br /> Molly enjoyed walking, gardening, taking photos, baking, speed-skating, travelling, picnics, visiting friends and especially her sewing group of over 60 years together. At family and social gatherings Molly would initiate fun sing-alongs and &ldquo;shows&rdquo; as she always enjoyed a good laugh!&nbsp; Molly loved her family and friends dearly. She was very generous and kind, always putting others before herself.&nbsp; She took great pride in her home and kept it as lovely as she kept herself.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Molly was musical, played the piano, ukulele and guitar by ear and she loved to dance.&nbsp; She had a passion for acting with Community and Cambrian Players in her early years; while she enjoyed attending Magnus Theatre and the Thunder Bay Symphony later on in life.&nbsp; Molly participated in many of Thunder Bay&rsquo;s celebrations and was a proud supporter of the arts.<br /> <br /> Molly was loved and deeply appreciated by her family.&nbsp; She is survived by her loving daughter Sharron (Lawrence) Skunta.&nbsp; Molly was very proud of her three granddaughters, Kathleen (Nathan) Ross, Shanley Skunta, and Kristie (Will Crocker) Skunta. She has three greatest grandsons: Hudson and Lachlan Ross, Kolt Crocker and a great granddaughter who will carry on her name, Kayln Molly Crocker.<br /> <br /> Molly had a special relationship with her cousins, nieces and nephews and kept in touch as best she could with family over the years. Closest to her were Diane (Russell) Little, Terry (Irene) Westlake and Linda (Ted) Etienne. She spoke so highly of each of them and loved them as though they were her own children.&nbsp; There are numerous other family members that Molly cherished.&nbsp; We have wonderful memories and feel blessed for having her in our lives for as long as we did.<br /> <br /> To the staff of The Walford and Roseview Manor, especially those in Champlain House, our family extends heartfelt thanks for the support, positive attitude, understanding and empathy with which Molly&rsquo;s needs and those of her family were met.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> As per Molly&rsquo;s wishes, Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 25th at 6 p.m. in the Sargent &amp; Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev.
