<p> Dr. Gordon Bowles passed away suddenly on July 8, 2013 in Thunder Bay.&nbsp; He had recently returned from his home in Guelph to enjoy his beloved summer cottage at Sunnyside Beach.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Born and raised in Fort William, Gordon graduated from the University of Toronto in 1955 and practiced dentistry in Thunder Bay until his retirement in 2001.&nbsp; He was a member of the Thunder Bay Dental Association, the International College of Dentistry and the Confederation College Dental Hygiene teaching staff.&nbsp; He devoted his life to his family, patients and profession.&nbsp; He loved singing and was a member of the Fort William Male Choir and recently the Village Arboretum choir in Guelph.&nbsp; He was previously involved with the Boy Scouts of Canada, ski patrol, lifeguarding and Gyros Club.<br /> <br /> Gordon will be lovingly remembered by family, friends and colleagues.&nbsp; He is survived by his devoted wife Iris, daughter Jane (Peter) and son Donald (Pauline), mother-in-law Anne Skorenky and grandchildren Jessica and Adam.&nbsp; He is now reunited with daughter &quot;Baby Mary&quot; and other family.<br /> <br /> Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12th at 10:00 a.m. in the Sargent &amp; Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Lloyd Ivany presiding.&nbsp; The interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery.&nbsp; Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.&nbsp; On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.<br /> <br /> &nbsp;</p>
