Mrs. Elsie Beach, age 99 years, passed away peacefully at Grandview Lodge on Dec. 28, 2013.</p>
<p>
Born on Dec. 9, 1914, Elsie was a lifetime resident of Thunder Bay. Married to Earl Beach in 1937, Elsie took great pride in maintaining their home on Harold Street. Elsie was a committed volunteer who found joy in serving others.</p>
<p>
She was a faithful blood donor and continued to knit socks and mitts for the Red Cross until just a few years ago. Elsie was a lifetime member of Lakehead Baptist Church.</p>
<p>
Elsie was predeceased by her parents Stephan and Pauline Tarnowski, brothers Andrew and Paul Tarnowski, sister Mary Paracy, husband Earl, and step-son Dick Beach. She is survived by nieces Patricia Harris, Maureen Paracy-Jesseau and Laurie Niskanen; grandson Rick Beach, and their families. Other family members also survive.</p>
<p>
According to Elsie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lakehead Baptist Church (1314 Oliver Road) with Pastor David Kimball officiating. Services will be complete in the church and interment will follow at a later date.</p>

The family would like to thank the staff of Jasper Place and Grandview Lodge for their support and compassionate care for Elsie over the past two years.</p>
