<p> <span style="font-size: 12px;">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Bacon.&nbsp; </span></p> <p> <span style="font-size: 12px;">Our dear Mum and Nana passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on the afternoon of Saturday April 26, 2014 at the age of 81.&nbsp; Sheila Hornby was born in Ilford, England, married Ken Bacon in 1952, and immigrated to Canada the following year.&nbsp;</span></p> <p> Sheila adored her children and grandchildren and family gatherings were her greatest joy.&nbsp; She enjoyed cooking roast beef dinners, challenging her grandchildren to games of Scrabble, knitting treasured sweaters, playing bridge and entertaining friends and family at Loon Lake.&nbsp; She looked forward to traveling across Canada to visit with her family.</p> <p> Sheila was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Ken Bacon and sister Mollie Thomas. She will be lovingly missed by her four&nbsp; children, Christine (Alex) du Plessix of Calgary, Michael (Brenda) of Kelowna, Susanne (John) Lopez of Thunder Bay, and Jane (John) Tracogna of Whitby, and 12 grandchildren: Justin and Phillip (Kayley) du Plessix, Ashley, Jordan, Andrew and Spencer Bacon, Kayla, Jonathon and Nicholas Lopez, and Stefan, Austin, and Lauren Tracogna.</p> <p> Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 1st, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church with Rev. Chris Harper presiding.&nbsp; If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.</p> <p> We are grateful to the C.C.A.C. support workers and nurses for the care and compassion provided which allowed for Mum to remain in her home.&nbsp;</p> <p> Arrangements entrusted to Sargent and Son Funeral Directors.&nbsp; On-line condolences may be made at <a href="http://www.sargentandson.com" target="_blank">www.sargentandson.com</a>.</p>
