<p> Dr. Margaret &ldquo;Joan&rdquo; Kyle, age 82 years, a resident of 63 Carrie Street, former longtime resident of 116 Summit Avenue, passed away at her residence on Monday, September 8, 2014.&nbsp;</p> <p> Joan was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, physician and friend.&nbsp; She was born in Wingham, Ontario on August 20, 1932 to Russ and Vi Hopper and was raised in Exeter, Ontario.&nbsp; Joan and husband Victor Kyle graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1957, practicing in Toronto until moving to Port Arthur in 1964.&nbsp;</p> <p> Joan returned to university where she obtained her license in Nuclear Medicine and joined Dr. Chris Best and Chief Technologist Jane Peachey in the Nuclear Medicine Lab at St. Joseph&rsquo;s Hospital, where she worked for 32 years.&nbsp;</p> <p> In 1991, after joining Cancer Care Ontario, she worked with a group of ambitious people to bring breast screening and the van to Northwestern Ontario.&nbsp;</p> <p> She was a long time member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church.&nbsp;</p> <p> Joan will be lovingly remembered by her children Tracey (Doug) Morrell, David (Dawn) Kyle, Hilary (Keith) MacGillivray and Roxanne (Cory) Legarde; grandchildren: Stephanie (Jeremie) LeBlanc, Mallory (Dougall) Thompson, Tori Morrell (Kyle Raben), Courtney Kyle (Adam Capulak), Sam Kyle, Malorey (Adam) McGrath, Emily Sitko (Brian&nbsp; Hackett), Steven Sitko, Olivia, Maggie and Owen MacGillivray and Parker, Matthew and Cassie Samec; great grandchildren: Gabe Thompson, Marleigh and Isobel McGrath and Charlotte LeBlanc,&nbsp; sister Patricia Fletcher of Exeter, Ontario as well as by numerous other relatives and dear friends.&nbsp; She was predeceased by her son Andy, and ex-husband Vic.&nbsp;</p> <p> A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sargent &amp; Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Barb Fugelsang presiding.&nbsp;</p> <p> Inurnment will take place at a later date in Exeter Cemetery.&nbsp;</p> <p> As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to St. Michael&rsquo;s Anglican Church would be appreciated.&nbsp;</p> <p> Online condolences may be made at <a href="http://www.sargentandson.com" target="_blank">www.sargentandson.com</a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p> &nbsp;</p> <p> logo</p>
