Mr. Benny Peter Machendagoos, born February 4, 1948 to Henry Alex Machendagos (deceased), and Rosalie Anakons (deceased), passed away on November 21st 2014 at the St. Joseph's Care Group hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario, after suffering a stroke from which he did not recover from.

He was loved, and will be missed dearly by his fellow siblings: Xavier, Robert, William, Maurice, Liza, Lillian, Rowena, Cecilia, Basil (deceased), Mary (deceased), Joyce (deceased), Eli (deceased), and Ken (deceased).

Benny married Eva Mary Matinet, (deceased), on April 26, 1971, and settled down in Sudbury, Ontario where he met countless people and developed long-lasting friendships with many of them.

He was a father of six; Benjamin David, Cynthia Lynn (husband Richard Welsh), Stephanie Mia, Paul Elliot, Michelle Mae (husband Michel Allen), and Matthew Christian (wife Julia Cawte); all of whom will greatly miss his presence in this world, but are happy that he is no longer in pain and that he is finally at peace.

He had nineteen Grand-children; from Cynthia Lynn: Kristina Isabel (husband Travis Lawson), Kenny Jacob, Joshua, and Jennifer Ruth; from Stephanie Mia: Kyle Gregory James, Kayla Ashley Mia, Isiah Johnson (pre-deceased), Jessica Carol Louise, and Jonathan Ben; from Michelle Mae: Krystal Ann, Karl Jay, Kraig Armand Kalvin Matthew, and Katrina Eva Marie; from Matthew Christian: Jordan Samara, Tanya Harmony, Serenity Rain, Patience Ember, and Violet Skye.

Ben was also a Great-Grand-Father of three, and one soon to be; from Kristina Isabel: Caitlyn; form Kayla Ashley Mia: Jared James Jeffery; from Krystal Ann: Leeland Ian; and from the soon to be mother Jessica Carol Louise: Xavier Ben (E.T.A. December 5, 2014).

He had numerous nephews and nieces that will also miss him and send him the warmest regards to him on the next part of his journey.

He will be remembered as travelling great distances to be with family so he could spend time with those who meant the most to him.  To some of us Ben, or Benny, was a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a man, a father, a grand-father, and a great-grand father; but to all of us he was a friend who will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace.

A visitation for family and friends was held in Thunder Bay was held on Monday, November 24, 2014 in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street.
