Mrs. Beverley "Bev" Diane Pyorny, age 69 years, passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on March 10, 1945 to Ted and Helen Blundell, Bev was a lifetime resident of Thunder Bay. Employed by the City of Thunder Bay for many years, it was during this time in 1965 that she met Larry Pyorny and they were married on July 25, 1970.

Bev and Larry were dedicated to one another and provided each other with great support and care during their time together.   Bev loved knitting, much of which she donated to the cancer clinic and to Cystic Fibrosis.  A woman of great drive and character, she survived bouts with four different types of cancer.   Bev will be lovingly remembered by her sister Marilyn McGuire, brother Ted (Pat) Blundell of Edmonton, dear friends Dawn Marie and Marc Lemelin and their three children as well as by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband Larry, her parents and her brother-in-law Larry McGuire.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 North Court Street with Archdeacon Deborah Kraft of St. Paul's Anglican Church presiding.  The inurnment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy the family respectfully requests memorials to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Northern Cancer Fund.
