Miss Janet Johnson, age 57 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her home on January 4, 2015.

Janet was born in McKellar Hospital on January 2, 1958 to Margaret Johnson and Patrick Johnson. While Janet was growing up, she spent a lot of her childhood in Upsala, Ontario with her parents and siblings.

Janet was known for her work ethic, holding many positions including waitressing and housekeeping at McKellar Hospital.  She was also employed by Inwood Forest Products.  Janet liked to clean and organize. She also enjoyed attending Bingo. Janet’s true love was her family and she absolutely adored her son Jason and his wife Amanda!

Janet will be sadly missed by her son Jason Anderson and his wife Amanda; grandson Kaleb; granddaughter Isabella; sister Olive Schori (Peter); brother Carson Johnson (Tania); sister Margaret Donohue; sister Ruby Johnson; brother Ben Johnson (Lesley); brother Patrick Johnson; and sister Loretta Johnson. 

She will always be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Janet was predeceased by her father Patrick Johnson and mother Margaret Johnson; brother Raymond Johnson (in infancy); brother Jack Johnson; brother Leonard Johnson; and most recently, sister Patricia Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 in St. Anne’s Church, 126 Mission Road, Fort William First Nation, with Mass to be celebrated by Rev. Larry Kroker, s.j. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the Mass.  Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
