Stella Castaldo

Mrs. Stella Castaldo age 76 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Stella was born in Riccia Italy and as a young girl she emigrated to Canada settling in Fort William. She met Frank Castaldo and they were married in 1963.

Together they raised four children. Stella worked in housekeeping at Pinewood Court until she retired. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary at the Da Vinci and St. Agnes’ Church. Stella enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and no week was complete without a family gathering for Sunday dinner.

Stella is survived by her sons Vic and wife Brenda, Tony and wife Leta, Roger and wife Karen and Felice, grandchildren Jenna, Travis, Dillon and Jared, brother Antonio (Theresa), sisters Maria (Tomasso), Concetta (Antonio) Grazia (Nicola), Pina (Giovanni). Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank, brother Pasquale, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.   

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 12:10pm, at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Sunny Sebastian. 

A private interment for family will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Prayers will be offered January 13, 2015 at  7:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel.  If friends desire, memorials to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated.

Stella Castaldo will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
