It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Myles Andrew Staal on Wednesday January 21, 2015 at the age of 35.

Myles will be sadly missed by his wife of 9 years, Malinda and his two sons, Daylan (9) and Preston (7). His parents Arthur and Ina Staal, siblings, Wesley (Shea), Darryl (Kristy), Bradley, Kayla (Bobby) Bolt. His mother-in-law Beth (Bruce) Savor, Malinda’s “other-mother” Marylynne Sawdo, His sisters-in-law, Valerie (Dean) Sawdo, Kathleen Sawdo, brother-in-law Dan (Sarina) Lloyd,. His Oma (Lammie Staal), Grandma (Alice Jaspers), numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended families and friends.

He was predeceased by his sister in infancy, and his father-in-law Roderick Sawdo.

Born on March 10, 1979 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  He attended Thunder Bay Christian School and Westgate High School. He had many trucking jobs over the years, and was currently employed by Thunder Bay Milk Transport.

Myles encountered many obstacles in his short life, however he found great joy in spending time with his boys, Daylan and Preston. They were everything to him, and he always loved to be with Daylan and Preston whether it be skating, “boys-nights”, or reading with them at night.

Funeral procession will leave The United Reformed Church of Thunder Bay (23 Hwy 130) at 12:30pm on Tuesday January 27th for an interment service at Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1:30pm at The United Reformed Church of Thunder Bay officiated by Rev. Ancel Merwin. There will be a light lunch to follow at the church.

If friends wish, they may view Myles on Monday January 26, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel.

Should you so desire, a trust fund has been established for Myles’ children, Daylan and Preston, with The Royal Bank of Canada.

Myles Staal will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
