William “Bill” Barry Winter, age 55 years, a resident of Murillo, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 after a short illness.
Born in Port Arthur, September 24, 1959, Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and a long-term employee at Northern Woods until its closing. His happiest memories were of weekends at Dog Lake at Uncle Bud's camp.
He was also a regular member of the Port Arthur Prosvita Society and enjoyed time with friends at the Java Hut. Bill was a man of few words but he had a quick wit, a sharp sense of humour and loved a good Scrabble game.
Bill will be sadly missed by his father Burt, close family friend Cora Sandham, brothers Jim (Linda), Rob (Monika), Lorne Winter and sisters Brenda Winter (Jeff Gibson) and Betty (Esko) Salo. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends. Bill was predeceased by his mother Doris, his sister Donna Hegge and sister Carol in infancy.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27th in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Chris Harper. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior, at 12:00 Noon. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the TBRHS Foundation-Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
