Mr. Erik “Ingemar” Andersson, age 71 years, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

Ingemar was born in Hedesunda, Sweden on June 28, 1943 to Erik and Aina Andersson.

He came to Canada in 1967 to find work and pursue the many opportunities that this country had to offer. Ingemar initially worked in the bush camps before becoming a pipeline surveyor/inspector.  He was a very well respected and liked inspector and his profession afforded him the opportunity to travel all over the world.

Ingemar was a generous and compassionate man who always saw the best in others.  He possessed a terrific sense of humor and he admired nature and all it had to offer.

Ingemar enjoyed antiques and restoring old cars.  As a pilot he enjoyed flying family and friends in small engine planes.  First and foremost in Ingemar’s life was his family.  When they were sad he felt their sadness and when they were happy he shared their joy, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.  He lived his life for his family.  Ingemar was a member of the Swedish Norskennett Society.

He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his daughters Marienne (Doug Barnes) Andersson and Rosalee (Jordan Zurevinski) Andersson, stepdaughter Lynda (Tom) Boschoff, grandchildren: Morgan Bouley, Olivia Andersson-Binkley, Jaxon Zurevinski, and Alicia and Alexander Boshcoff; sister Karin Hoglund, brothers Matts (Marie) and Waldermar (Agnetta) Andersson, and the mother of his children Marlene Poulin as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was predeceased by his grandson Spencer Andersson, sister Anna-Mia Andersson and his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Chris Fiorito presiding.  Services will be complete in the chapel with cremation to follow.  Visitation for friends will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Chapel.

As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.  On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
