After a long and healthy life, with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Clifford Newell Hoffman. Cliff passed away at home with his family near, after a brief illness.

Cliff was born in Kenora, Ontario on June 5, 1929 to parents Marion and Marshall Hoffman. The family moved to Fort William when he was a young child. Cliff attended Drew Street School and Fort William Technical High School.

Following in his grandfather and father’s footsteps, Cliff became a Railroad Telegrapher for C.P.R. He later was employed with the Federal Government as an U.I.C. Investigator. In 1950 he met Lorraine “Bunny” King and they were married in 1951. They raised three boys of whom Cliff was very proud.

Cliff and Bunny loved to travel, making trips to Florida and the West Coast with the children. Later they spent many winters in Florida. When they no longer could make the long trip, they enjoyed their outings to Hinckley, Minnesota.

Cliff loved dogs and enjoyed the antics of Bootz and Jake when they came to visit and Pewter who sat with him right to the end.

Cliff will be sadly missed by his wife Bunny of 64 years, three sons; Ken (Lucy), Bob (Lyne) and Jim (Antonella); four grandchildren; Kristen, Mark, Kyle and Bobbie-Lyne; step-grandsons; Brian and Michael, Steven and Chris and great step-grandson Brayden.

He is also survived by his brother Ray of Farmington, Missouri; sister-in-law Diana King and many nieces and nephews. Cliff was predeceased by his parents Marion and Marshall; sister-in-law June Pomber; brothers-in-law Joe Pomber and Russ King and nephews Lorrie and Bill Pomber.

Respecting Cliff’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the TBRHSC Cancer Centre would be appreciated.

I’ve lived the life, I’ve travelled free
I’ve seen the beaches….sunny seas
Worked long and hard, but now and then
Returned down south till winters’ end
You’re not alone for now I’ll be
Here in Spirit, I watch over thee
