It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Wayne Wareham, age 59 years on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 peacefully at home with his family by his side.

Wayne was born on January 24 in Toronto, Ontario. After graduating high school, he began an apprenticeship with CP Rail in June 1974. After completing that he continued working for the railway in the Toronto yard until he was transferred to Sudbury in 1988.

The nine years he spent working there were the most enjoyable of his career. Many good friends were made and complain as he would about the cold weather, he loved those days and nights he spent out on train wrecks with his railway buddies. He was transferred again in 1997 here to Thunder Bay where he continued to enjoy a successful career.

Throughout his time with CP Rail he was acknowledged for many accomplishments, such as safety awards and his expertise in the transporting and securing of large and heavy loads. He retired in 2013.

One of the biggest joys in life was his granddaughter “Miss Belle”. He spent time with her playing board games, ball and was always interested in her schoolwork. Before he passed, he was able to fulfill her wish to go to Disneyworld.

He was so lucky to have so many good friends that came to see him during his last days. He had a big personality, a unique way of saying things and an interesting sense of humour. Wayne was always remembered by anyone who met him. He always made sure his three girls were taken care of before himself. He will truly be missed by all.

Wayne will be greatly missed by his childhood sweetheart and wife Janice, son Lucas (Rosamae), daughter Stefanie (Travis), grandsons Stellen and Willem, granddaughter Belle, mother Ruth, brother Wes, nephews Robert and Austin and niece Krystal.

Wayne was predeceased by his father Gord, brother Ron and sister-in-law Elizabeth.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street presided by Rev. Chris Harper. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the TBRHSF- Northern Cancer Fund.
