It is with heavy hearts that, the family of Clayton McGill Mosley, announce his passing on Monday May 25th, 2015, at home with his family by his side. He fought a tremendous fight with absolute courage and determination.

Clayton was born to Irene and William Mosley on January 20th, 1944 in Chapleau, Ontario. He attended Pine St. Elementary School, Hillcrest High School and received his Bachelors of Sociology Degree from Lakehead University.

He started his work career as a barber, then a labourer for Trans Canada Pipeline and a sheet metal worker for Keenan's. After he received his bachelor degree he was employed at the John Howard Society followed by the district Jail and for a brief time at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital.  He finished his career as a supervisor at the Thunder Bay Correctional Youth Centre in 2004. Once retired, he spent many years as a volunteer for Hospice Northwest, this was something he truly enjoyed and enriched his life in so many ways.

Clay will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Luba, his son Mark Mosley, his daughter Catherine Adams (Richard ), his brothers-in-law Morris Trystruha (Carolyn) and Ed McLean (Diane), his sister-in law Elizabeth Labaty (Johnny), his sister Shirley Nevin, as well as by his grandchildren Alyssa Adams and Kai Mosley. Clay is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Clay was precdeceased by his parents Irene McGonigal and William Mosley, his mother and father in-law Justine and Alex Trystruha, his step-sister Linda (Strey) and his niece Dawn McLean.

The most important thing in Clay’s life was his family, and he loved spending time with them at home and on vacation. The place he held most dear was Hawaii, where he and Luba traveled for 40 plus years. He made many long and lasting friendships which became his Hawaiian Ohana (family) and looked at going there, like going home.

Clay was an extremely proud man with a very strong moral compass. He was one of a kind, with a tremendously generous heart. His door was always open, where he welcomed everyone with open arms. His nature guided him to be determined in everything he did in life. He was the fixer of everything, and never left a project unfinished.

His family, home and yard were his pride and joy. He was a mentor, a pillar of strength and support. Loving and devoted to all that entered his life. Touched the hearts of many, and left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.  He will be missed greatly, but as he always said "you are always in my heart, I will see you in my dreams"

The family would like to extend a special thanks to:  Dr. Faghih, Dr. Ramchander, Dr. Simpson, Dr. Miller, Dr. Valente,  Rev. Hugh Walker, Thunder Bay Cancer Centre and CCAC for all your compassion and care. As well as to his friends and family that walked the journey with him.

Funeral Services for Clay will be held on Monday June 1st, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the HARBOURVIEW FUNERAL CENTRE, 499 North Cumberland Street. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Harbourview on Sunday May 31st, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A full obituary will follow in Saturday’s paper. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Northwest would be greatly appreciated.
