It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Raymond Ernest Thomas Moses "Blue Thunderbird" announces his unexpected passing on Friday, July 3rd, 2015, at the age of 30 years.

Ray was born on April 23rd, 1985 in Thunder Bay. A member of Pic River First Nation, Ray was a beloved son, brother, nephew and a devoted & loving father to Kaitlyn and Elaina. Ray belonged to a larger powwow family as a brother, a drummer and a singer having spent most of his life on the powwow trail. He was a hand drummer and loved competitions with his Little Bear/Battle Nation brothers.

Ray enjoyed watching NHL hockey (Go Leafs Go!), UFC and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers .

His time growing up was spent with family in the bush hunting, fishing and camping. Ray was filled with humour and kindness for everyone he met and always greeted you with a smile or a joke. His love for being a music junkie, which he shared with his sisters, will always remain.

Ray was a caring, loving, humble and protective warrior, with a strong spirit who touched so many hearts. And he will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

Ray will be forever remembered by his beautiful daughters Kaitlyn & Elaina; parents Garland & Rose Moses; sisters Suzanne & Miigwan; his brother Ryan & his nephew Nolan; as well as by many aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins from the Ojibways of Pic River First Nation & Aroland First Nation.

Ray was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ambrose & Suzanne Meshake, and paternal grandparents, Clara & Antoine Moses.

Ray will make his final way home on Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 and will be resting at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in Heron Bay (Pic River First Nation). Visitation with friends and family is welcomed on the evening of July 7th, 2015 beginning at 6:00 PM.
