It is with great sadness that the family of Aldo Pellizzari, age 77, announce his passing with his family by his side on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at TBRHSC after a courageous battle with cancer.

Aldo was born on March 16, 1938 and was raised in the East End. He worked for 37 years at Great Lakes Paper Mill, retiring in 1994.

After his retirement, he and Judy spent many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Aldo enjoyed little jaunts to Duluth and Grand Portage, coffee at Intercity with his coffee buddies and Wednesday night outings with the boys. Having the family together was most important to Aldo.

He loved these visits for any or no specific reason and it gave him great joy. Aldo was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1447 for over 50 years and a lifetime member of the Italian Society Principe de Piemonte (DaVinci Centre). Aldo will be greatly missed by Judy, his wife of 54 years, daughter Debra (Dwayne) Manaigre, son Richard (Karen) Pellizzari, grandchildren Jennifer and Jonathan Manaigre and Katelyn and Ryan Pellizzari. He is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Pellizzari, brother-in-law Roy Gridzak, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Zita Pellizzari, brother Lino Pellizzari and in-laws, Joseph and Ann Gridzak.

In keeping with Aldo’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at 10 AM on Monday, August 31 at St. Dominic’s Church, with a funeral mass to follow at 11 AM. A private family interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Aldo Pellizzari will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
