It is with great sadness that the family of Gail Kusmack, age 77 years, resident of 205 Grenville Avenue, announce her passing with her family by her side on Friday, July 31, 2015 at TBRHSC after suffering a massive stroke.

Gail, the youngest child of seven, was born and raised in Winnipeg where she met and married James Kusmack on August 4, 1956. They were blessed with 4 children, whom they raised in Winnipeg.  The family then moved to Calgary for 2 years and finally settled in Thunder Bay in 1971. Gail was predeceased by her husband James Kusmack in 1988.

Gail worked many different jobs over the years, but her main focus was to be a homemaker and care for her husband and children.  Her passion in life was her family, grandchildren and her great grandchildren.  She was always there for all of us, to give advice, help when needed and of course to just listen to us when we needed an ear.  She was a caring, loving, generous lady, who helped out everyone and always put everyone else first.

In 1998, Gail met Scott Milne, and they resided together until his passing in August 2013.

Gail will be sadly missed and remembered by her 4 children; Jim Kusmack, Brian (Shawna) Kusmack, Diane Kusmack and Kim Ouellet. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Christine, Miranda (John), and Eric (Emma) and by great grandchildren; Ronnie, Avery and Daniel, and her dog Lady. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace now and can have the rest that she so desperately needed.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Randy Boyd of Trinity United Church. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.  A time of visiting with the family, with coffee and refreshments, will begin one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gail’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
