Hilkka passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, August 31, 2015 at TBRHSC.
Hilkka was born March 18, 1922 in Merijarvi, Finland to Jalmari and Henriika Ojala. She immigrated to Canada in 1926. She worked at various jobs and her last was with the Land Titles Office in Thunder Bay, where she worked happily for 25 years. Hilkka loved to dance and travelled extensively.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Judy, grandson Mike (Angelina), granddaughter Krysta and great-grand children Roman and Sienna.
Hilkka was predeceased by her husband Robert Burns, brothers Unto, Martti and close friend Walter.
Cremation has taken place a private family ceremony will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
