It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved son and brother Matthew James Mesengeeshik passed away on Sunday, September 27th, 2015 at home.
Matthew leaves behind his mother Martha Leblanc, stepfather Rolly, sisters Michelle and Marianne (Charles), brother Michael Jr., father Michael Nodin Sr., and his loving spouse Mary Penagin and sons Tyson and Lennox, whom where the world to him. Also his uncle and bestfriend Terrance, uncles Marcel, Jimmie, Norman, Ronnie, Alvin. Aunts Evelyn, Elvina, Nelly and Marie. Numerous cousins including the Nodin Family, who he considered his family.
Matthew was a member of the International Union, local 607.
He loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He wanted to be an outdoorsman, always wanting to learn his native ways of life. Matthew was always a kind person; he had a smile that could light up any dark room and a laugh that warmed your heart.
He was always willing to help anyone out that needed help, and he truly had a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed by his family and friendsZ
Funeral Services for Matthew will be held at the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 N. Cumberland St. on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. For those who will not be able to make the service, a live stream will be available during service time at harbourviewfuneral.ca. Interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow the reception.
