Mrs. Jean Palmer, age 54, passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on Friday April 29th, 2016.

Jean lived most of her life in Nipigon and Thunder Bay with her early years taking place in southern Ontario. She lived for her family, there was nothing more important.

Jean and her husband Trent frequently enjoyed camping at Frazer Lake with family and friends. A fishing trip was always her opportunity to out-fish Trent (which he will never admit). Jean loved being a mother. You would often hear her talk of her son and two daughters. She also enjoyed her role as a Nana. Her 9 grandchildren brought much joy and purpose to her life. Jean always enjoyed a good book, sci-fi or mythological films and cooking for her family. She had the patience of a saint, and for anyone who has met her husband or children would understand. She will be deeply missed with every day that passes.

Jean is survived by her loving husband Trent Palmer (we’re shocked too), her son Anthony Howe (Catherine) of Midland, ON, two daughters, Ashley Nurmela (Petri) and Kathleen Lent (Christopher) both of Thunder Bay; grandchildren Tierney Howe, Reagan Howe, Bryor Zummach, Reign Howe, Toni-Lynn Palmer-Thompson, Jermaine Palmer-Thompson, Terri-Ann Palmer-Thompson, Ijaya Nurmela and Lucy-Anna Lent. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws.

Funeral Services for the late Jean Palmer will be held on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Mr. Victor and Maureen Pelletier. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Northern Reach or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
