We regret to announce the passing of Walter Wudkevich, formerly of Glacier Ridge, on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Pinewood Court in Thunder Bay. Dad passed away 3 months before his 90th birthday.

Walter was born in the Ukraine on September 9, 1926. He immigrated to Canada, at the age of 2, with his parents and 6 siblings. They settled on a farm in Saskatchewan. Walter eventually moved to Ontario, where he met and married May MacDonald and together, they raised 3 children.

Walter will be greatly missed by his children Dan (Theresa) and Brenda (Rob) Kent; grandchildren Kevin (Nicole) Wudkevich, Kerissa (Hoang) Le, Jeff (Shelley) Roberts, Ben (Ravaye) Kent and Katie Kent; great grandchildren Brianna and Gabriella Le and Jacob and Nicholas Roberts as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his family that immigrated from the Ukraine. Walter will also be truly missed by his friends at Glacier Ridge and in Blind River and Sault Ste. Marie.

He was predeceased by his wife and partner of 64 years, May; daughter Glenda "Goldie" as well as his parents and siblings in Saskatchewan.

A very special thank you to the wonderful Nursing Staff and Doctors of TBRHSC, for helping to make Dad's trips there as comfortable as possible. Thank you to remarkable staff at Glacier Ridge for making Dad's stay there wonderful, even though Minnie Pearl did not show up. Lastly, thank you to the staff at Pinewood Court – Blue Heron Wing for the care and compassion you have shown.

Mom and Dad are finally now together. A private family service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James, Thunder Bay.
