With deep sorrow the family of Barbara Ann LeGarde would like to announce her passing. Like in life, she fought courageously, but unfortunately lost her battle to cancer on July 21, 2016 at the TBRHSC with her family (tribe) by her side.

Barbara had a fulfilling life as a stay at home mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and foster parent.

She worked at Kemp Fisheries, Rec. Director at FWFN a truck driver and a Red Cross Homemaker.

Together with her husband she raised 8 children along with her pride and joy her grandson Gabriel. Her greatest accomplishment was raising and loving her kids, grandkids, great grand kids and great-great grandkids. Barbara’s best advice was “commit yourself to your family”.

Barbara is survived by her grandson Gabriel, her daughters Terry (Leo), Yvette (Larry), Claudia. Monica (Carl), Alison (Jason), her sons Percy Jr. (Linda), Tim (Amanda), and her daughter-in-law Rachel, her brothers Leonard, Tom (Linda), Martin (Debbie), Tim (Karen), sisters Mary-Ellen (Jim), Janet, Cindy and brother-in-law Garry. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Also nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Percy Legarde Sr.; parents, Martin and Lyla Bannon, her son Alex, brother Bruce and sister Claudette, sister-in-law Lorna . The family would like to extend there thanks to 1A oncology nurses and staff at TBRHSC for there amazing kindness towards Barbara and her family.

The Funeral Services will take place at St Anne’s Church on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at 11am. Father Larry Kroker s.j. will be officiating with interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery on Fort William First Nation. Donations to St. Annes Church on Fort William First Nation would be greatly appreciated.

Barbara Ann LeGarde will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
