Ms. Ethel Normand, age 73 years, resident of Hogarth Riverview Manor and formerly of Grandview Lodge passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2016.

Ethel was born in Little Grand Rapids, Manitoba on September 6, 1942. She was married to Josephat Normand and moved to Kenora where they had their daughter Marie. She resided in Kenora for several years before moving to Thunder Bay where she spent the rest of her days. Ethel worked at various occupations, maid, waitress, but mainly as a camp housekeeper in the Red Lake area.

She loved being outdoors and always enjoyed her trips to the bush. Her most cherished time was spent with her grandson Aaron. When she cooked you a meal, you knew you were getting something hardy, but there was the distinct possibility that a lot of chewing would be involved.

Ethel was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mary Ann Green, her two sisters Stella Crawford and Ann Green. She is survived by her daughter Marie Normand (Warren) of Thunder Bay, her grandson Aaron Doull of Kenora, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place on July 25, 2016. A private ceremony will take place at a later date.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor and Grandview Lodge for the loving care given to our beloved mother and grandmother.
