Michael GEORGE Knez, age 91 years, passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor on February 21, 2010 with family at his side. 
 
George was born in Port Arthur July 31, 1918.  He was educated locally and held various jobs within the city retiring from the Brewer's Retail in 1978 after 31 years of service.  After his retirement, George spent the next 15 years traveling.  He enjoyed his many trips, seeing new places and meeting new people.  When not traveling, George could be found on his daily walks, enjoying coffee with his buddies, going on outings with his sisters and spending time with his nieces and nephews.  George was a life long member of St. Andrew's R.C. Church and served as a Minister of Hospitality there for many years. 
 
George will be lovingly remembered by his sisters; Anne Hughes and Josephine Lozinski as well as his nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents George and Martha Knez, sisters Eva, Rose, Helen, Frances and Mary, brothers Tony & John.
 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 when family and friends will gather at St. Andrew's R.C. Church for Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini.  Interment will follow in St. Andrew's R.C. Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:45 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel.  Should friends desire, memorial donations to St. Andrew's R.C.
