Bruce Power, age 58 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, on March 23, 2010.

Bruce was born June 10, 1951 in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland . He was a hard rock miner for 41 years. He enjoyed poker night with the boys and his monthly trips to the Casino. Sports were always on the TV with the Blue Jays and Montreal Canadiens being his favourite teams and if it wasn’t sports it would be his beloved westerns. He liked speckled trout fishing, sitting on the deck, puttering in his garage and spending time with his dog Charlie.

Bruce will be sadly missed by his loving wife Evelyn Barley, his children Denise (Wayne) Power, Bruce Jr. (Vanessa) Power, Tony (Susan) Power, Becky (Jeff) MacKenzie and Heather (Terry) Vosdingh, and his Grandchildren Christopher, Bruce "3rd", Brooke, Travis, Maegen and Blade. He is also survived by his Sisters and Brothers, Shirley (Bill) Wall, Joan (Johnny) Walker, Carol Ann (Harold) Hynes, Tom (Joyce) Power, Cathy (Fred) O’Dell, and Dave Power. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and other family members. Bruce was predeceased by his Parents Myrtle and Tom Power, his brother Peter and nephew Ivan.

Funeral Services for the late Bruce Power will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26th, 2010 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the same evening. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Bruce’s memory to the Canadian Liver Foundation, or to the charity of your choice.
