Golf fan or not, get yourself out to Whitewater Golf Course this weekend.

The Staal Foundation Open is finally here, and it’s your chance to see some of tomorrow’s finest golfers before they hit the big time.

The top five golfers on this year’s PGA Tour Canada money list will graduate to the Web.com Tour next year, just a step away from the PGA Tour and playing alongside the likes of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

Mike Weir, Canada’s favourite golfer and the 2003 Masters champion, got his start on the Canadian Tour, as the PGA?Tour Canada was known in the day.

It’s a chance to hobnob with the city’s hockey royalty.

The tournament is the launching pad for the Staal Foundation, which aims to help children suffering with cancer.

Eric, Marc,?Jordan and?Jared will be at the tournament all week long, though they are taking time off to hang out at Fort William Historical Park on the weekend to sign autographs, part of Fan Con.

The event will include concerts on Friday and Saturday night, with David Wilcox, the Stampeders and Star Trek’s own Mr. Chekov, Walter Koenig.

There’s plenty of activities to interest just about anyone.
