Attention tbnewswatch.com users: If you have not logged into your existing tbnewswatch.com since Oct. 20, 2014, then you may have to recreate that account.

On Monday, Oct. 20, we launched a new accounts system. Because of this we are asking existing users to create a new account with tbnewswatch.com. We apologize if this causes any of our users inconvenience.

At first glance, you may not notice a difference between the new accounts and the ones you were logged into before Oct. 20. But there will be a variety of new features available to users, many that will be accessible very soon.

The first new feature, available right now, is a comment history. Every user will be able to access their own comment history along with the comment history of any other tbnewswatch.com user.

We believe the comment history provides users with a number of benefits. It may help users recall what they’ve discussed on different stories that feature a similar topic. Better yet, the comment history could be used for troll detection,  helping users discover which readers like to engage in meaningful conversation as opposed to the users who actively troll.

An email confirmation will be needed to activate your new account. This should limit the number of users who have multiple accounts. While secondary, or throwaway, accounts do not violate our user guidelines, we may freeze any account that appears to be used for the sole purpose of harassing users.

Also note that the new system comes with amnesty for any account that was previously frozen or banned.

Thank you for using tbnewswatch.com, and we hope you continue making  tbnewswatch.com you source for local news and sports information in the future.
