LETTER: People did vote for change

To the editor, Interesting how quick the news media suggests that the voters didn't want a change in this election. Looking at the numbers it would appear that more people voted for someone different than those that voted for Mr. Hobbs.

To the editor,

Interesting how quick the news media suggests that the voters didn't want a change in this election.

Looking at the numbers it would appear that more people voted for someone different than those that voted for Mr. Hobbs. And the numbers indicate that people also wanted change in the Westfort, Northwood and Mcintyre Wards.

There were an awful lot of people who voted for different At Large candidates and because there were so many to choose from it watered out the votes and put four out of five incumbents back in.

Newcomer Tamara Johnson's 10,200 votes sends a huge message that people wanted change.

Looking back on the platforms of the candidates that lost, the numbers clearly point out that we don't need a new Event Center right now and the crime in this city has to be looked at differently than what is now happening.

I have my doubts that the Source would look at it that way, but we'll see what they say in the coming days.
