To the editor:
Although I don't agree with Fraser Institute elementary school rankings being published, as much more makes a positive great school community environment than the scores of EQAO, you have not included all schools in our area.
You published Valley Central, which is located in the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge, but there are 2 other schools also located in this Municipality.
There is Crestview in Murillo and Kakabeka and also Gorham & Ware school, Whitefish and McKenzie that fall within the immediate district of Thunder Bay.
I urge families to not only consider these EQAO results, but look at what activities may take place within all schools that promote community and parental involvement. Look at what programs may also be happening that help nurture our children throughout their day. This includes breakfast programs, lunches, clubs and groups, sports and other opportunities that bring in the community to these schools.
