To the editor,

We’re happy to announce that as part of the annual Tire Take Back event, hosted by Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA), with support from Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) and Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA), Thunder Bay Auto Parts collected an astounding amount of tires, resulting in $2,585.44 for The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, fulfilling the dreams of children with severe physical disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.

This year, over the first six days of June, Thunder Bay Auto Parts collected 1,340 tires, diverting them from hazardous landfills, and helped contribute to the overall donation to The Sunshine Foundation.

So what happens with all those tires?

They may get transformed into sustainable products for a community space in your area. OTS is offering communities across Ontario up to $50,000 in grants through their Community Renewal Fund to build or renew spaces using sustainable materials made with recycled Ontario tire rubber.

Please let me know if you’d like an interview with someone from Thunder Bay Auto Parts, OARA, OTS or the Sunshine Foundation and we can coordinate further. Additionally, I’d also be happy to share with you photos from the cheque presentation ceremony and collection events.
