Bob Nault issues statement on fed's Child Benefit program

(OTTAWA) Tuesday, July 5, 2016 – The Hon.

(OTTAWA) Tuesday, July 5, 2016 – The Hon. Robert Nault, Member of Parliament (Kenora Riding), today released the following statement regarding improvements to the Canada Child Benefit (CCB):

“I’m happy that new changes to the CCB will now put more money in the pockets of Canadian families. Children are one of our most valuable and important resources, so it is important that they have the  proper resources to succeed.

“Through the new benefit, nine out of 10 Canadian families will receive more than previous child benefit programs. It is also tax-free and tied to income, which means it provides greater support to those who need help the most: single-parent families and low-income families.

“Today, far too many middle class families struggle to get ahead and as the cost of living continues to rise, families are finding it more difficult to keep up. I believe that a strong economy starts with a strong middle class.  Increasing the CCB is great first step to bring equality to low and middle income families.”
