Juan Velez netted the equalizer in 21st minute, the goal earning the Thunder Bay Chill a 1-1 draw against Des Moines in their final road game of the season.

The host Menace, who were eliminated from the Premier Development League playoffs after only collecting one point, got their goal in the second minute, an own-goal credited to Thunder Bay’s Axel Sjobere.

The Chill (11-2-1), fell a point behind Michigan (11-0-2) for top spot in the Central Conference. Thunder Bay wraps up regular-season play next Friday and Saturday at Chapples Park against the Kansas City Brass.

Real Colorado clinched the Heartland Division’s second and final playoff berth on Saturday, blanking Kansas City 3-0 on Saturday.
