Cats end slide

By Leith Dunick, tbnewswatch.com

Kyle Lombardo’s sacrifice fly in the seventh inning Saturday night ended the Thunder Bay Border Cats season-long seven-game losing streak.

Cory Kay homered in the second and drove in a pair of runs for the Cats, who improved to 6-11 with the 5-2 win over the Willmar Stingers.
Sean Becker, making his Border Cats debut, went eight strong to earn the win, allowing eight hits and two earned runs, while striking out four and walking two.
