A weekend split at home against York hasn’t hurt the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team in the eyes of the media who vote for the top 10 teams in the nation each week.

The Wolves (3-1-0) are ranked 10th for the second straight week in the CIS poll, a ranking that saw last year’s national champion McGill drop out of the top 10.

Alberta takes over top spot from the University of New Brunswick, with UQTR, Saskatchewan and Moncton rounding out the top five.

When the defence catches up to the skill level of the offence. We could rank #3or4 or higher.looks like a skilled team that is well coached go wolves go

I agree, but I think our defense is quite skilled, they just need a chance to gel.

Fillman hasnt played since he took that huge hit against Brock, and Gilbert hasnt played since Guelph.

I really like the look of Gilbert, and think he will be quite an addition to the d-corps once he's back. Not quite sure what happened to him, but hope its nothing too serious.

Our forwards have some real potential. The young guys look great, as do our second years.

I hope Wilkins turns it on soon as he is my favourite player on the roster, but doesnt quite look like himself this year. Not sure if he's playing hurt, or losing some of his motivation, but he is someone that the team needs to go a long way. Love his heart. Gamache too. We really missed him when he was hurt. He is one of the more underrated players in the league, and I thought he had an outside chance to be the captain this year based on his effort level. But Srgeries was a good choice. He's great in the community.

Well said sticky! All those boys look great - lots of skill, and lots of depth .. just missing something from the top to get them to the top.

After reading the program last weekend and noting the top 10 list, it is quite evident that the rankings are more of a popularity contest than a true ranking. 3 of the teams were ranked above LU and had not played a single conference game yet and Magill was ranked 5th and was at 0-2, while LU was 2-0 and ranked 10th. I will reserve judgement on the tope 10 until around Christmes personally. LU has a good looking team and once they get over their Dr Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde routine, they should do fine. There is a lot of potential there and as a Season Ticket Holder since year one, I am excited by the product in general. I do hope that a performance like last Saturday night never happens again, as it really was embarassing to watch.
